STRUCTURAL ENGINEERING
100 South Street, Chicago
Renovations featured adaptive re-use of an existing, five-story Amalgamated Bank Building.
The new five-story Addition extends the existing building to the south, by one bay. This Addition re-uses Level 1 framing, brick foundation walls and continuous footings that were built in 1885. The renovations and new Addition structural engineering requirements were provided.
The re-use of existing foundations, reduced permitting time and simplified construction.
