Celebrating Flaco the Owl at Canstruction New York 2024: A Symbol of Resilience and Community
Meet Flaco, a larger-than-life representation of the famous Eurasian eagle-owl who captured New Yorkers' hearts after his daring escape from the Central Park Zoo. “Fly Free” was inspired by Flaco’s resilience and independence, our Canstruction project at Brookfield Place brings this feathery icon to life, constructed from 1,588 non-perishable cans. Hartfield Group Engineering Announces Chicago Studio
Hatfield Group Engineering, the New York-based, WBE-certified, multidisciplinary engineering firm, is thrilled to announce the launch of our Chicago studio. HGE Chicago is led by Koz Sowlat, SE, PE, and Robert J. Diebold, SE, PE, two world-class structural engineers who have co-led their firm, Sowlat Structural Engineers, since its founding in 2004. HGE Chicago was established on May 4, 2024, to better serve HGE clients, by leveraging Koz Sowlat and Rob Diebold’s structural expertise, and by bringing HGE’s structural, MEP/FP, and facade engineering services to the Midwest. The American Institute of Architects has elevated Erleen to its College of Fellows. HALO Tower Begins Facade Installation
Halo Tower, a three-tower project that includes Newark’s tallest, has begun facade installation. Hatfield Group is working as facade consultants on the project, which was designed by INOA Architecture and developed by Acier Holdings.

Hatfiled Group Signs SE2050 Commitment
Hatfield Group has officially signed the Structural Engineering Institute's SE2050 Commitment, one of the most ambitious sustainability initiatives in the AEC industry. The pledge supports the Carbon Leadership Form's 2050 Challenge and aims to minimize embodied carbon in buildings. As part of Hatfield Group's commitment, we have named Principal Rebecca Jones our Embodied Carbon Champion. Rebecca will lead the charge in assembling our Embodied Carbon Action Plan and ensure all of our projects take measures to minimize their carbon impact.
